EMERGENCY-MANAGER

Emergency Manager

Today the internet with linking computers, PCs, tablets, mobile phones, smart phones, social media are part of our normal way of life; this is natural communications.

Your role as an Emergency Manager presents a variety of difficult tasks.
The purchase and set up of the physical equipment and facilities needed for an emergency control/coordination centre is relatively easy. However, when it comes to the purchase and implementation of the necessary software, the experience is very different. The investigation, demonstration, purchase, and implementation of the system, together with personnel training, is often a long-term project that could take years.

Unlike most expensive, generic ‘silo systems’, the EMN solution can be implemented quickly and easily, reducing the risk, the time involved, the training required and costs. People who have bought traditional emergency systems find it difficult to believe that EMN can be up and running in a fraction of the time needed to implement a silo system.

EMN’s system architecture has been designed specifically for the public safety sector and uses modern, cost-effective technologies everyone is familiar with. Participants use their own communication devices: mobile phones, ipads or laptops. They just link into the network and communicate. It’s no different to linking to Email, Facebook or Twitter. You will be congratulated for simplifying communications between participants and delivering great results at a moderate cost.

What can EMN do for you?

  • The EMN solution also offers flexibility. Any new requirements that emerge after the system goes live can be adopted as options as and when required. Compare this to the cost and time needed to reconfigure one of the silo systems where change usually means complexity and high cost.
  • The EMN solution manages tasks, requests and events so that the commander or Incident controller can handle the decisions using the real-time common operating picture which EMN provides spatially as well as in report form. Emergency service personnel get a common operating picture of any emergency or incident and a single version of the truth. Our solution eliminates heavy reliance on people to manage the various links between centres and enables links to other teams, contact points and centres within the Network with ease.
  • The EMN solution uses the Internet as its system platform. This keeps operating costs low and makes the EMN solution resilient to failure. Where other communication systems have failed or been knocked out in a major disaster or emergency, the internet always remains.
  • Our solution has been proven in the field. It was run at the Canadian G8 and G20 Summit meetings in Canada during 2010 for five days, 24 hours a day by 75 personnel who required only minimal training. EMN performed exceptionally well and it was run out of Melbourne Australia, demonstrating its capacity to provide emergency management and coordination from anywhere, anytime.
  • The EMN team specialises in the emergency services/public safety sector. Working with cooperative and experienced software partners will be like a breath of fresh air. During any project, we will work alongside you to overcome any unexpected challenges that arise.
